Chinese Lantern Festival, Auckland, 2009 (2 o 2)

Chinese Lantern Festival, Auckland, 2009

As immigrant populations have become more settled in New Zealand and diversity more readily accepted, cultural festivals have emerged in cities. Some have become very large and are important dates on a city’s cultural calendar. While events like the Chinese Lantern Festival in Auckland generally celebrate the culture of one ethnicity, they also allow people from different communities to mix, mingle and learn.
