Getting wool to the coast

A driver and his seven Clydesdales transport wool to the coast around 1900. They’re shown here on a reasonably dry road, rounding a corner on Taylor Pass, which connects the Awatere River valley with Blenheim. From there the wool would travel by ship to Britain.
