Fruit bowl float

In the 20th century Hawke’s Bay was marketed as the ‘fruit bowl of New Zealand’. This float, entered by Woolworths in the annual Hastings Blossom Festival, picks up on this theme. The bright colours of the heaped fruit bowl topped with cascading grapes won its maker a commendation from the judges.
