Milk run

Image
Milk run
Part-time work provides children with spending money, and can be an important source of income in poorer households. Until the demise of home milk-deliveries in the 1980s, milk runs were a popular part-time job – mostly among boys, as it required considerable strength and fitness. This young worker pushes a hefty milk cart along a Wellington street in 1975.
