Rhododendron dell, Dunedin Botanic Garden

Planting of the rhododendron dell started in 1914 under the supervision of David Tannock. In 2008 the plantings extended for 4 hectares, and contained around 3,500 rhododendrons of 180 different species and over 200 hybrids. Dunedin’s rhododendrons are best viewed during spring and early summer.
