I te taenga atu o Tainui ki waho ake o Whangaparāoa i Te Moana-a-Toitehuatahi, e pua ana te pōhutukawa (e kī ana ētahi ko te rātā). I tā rātou kitenga atu i tēnei, ka pōhēhē ngā tāngata i runga i te waka, he kura aua pua pōhutukawa, he rite ki ngā kura i mauria mai e rātou i Hawaiki. Nā tēnei pōhēhē, ka rukea e rātou ō ratou taonga kura ki te moana. Kia ū te waka ki uta, ka kite ngā tāngata, auē, ehara aua mea i te kura, he pua rākau noa iho. I konei, ka tangi rātou. Whāia, ka hau tētahi kōrero rongonui mō tēnei hapanga.
