Kōrero: Sheep farming

A fertile Perendale

Image
A fertile Perendale

The Perendale was bred by crossing the Romney and the Cheviot. It is hardier and more fertile than the Romney. This Perendale ewe is successfully rearing five lambs. It is not uncommon for ewes in commercial flocks to bear and raise twins – but having quins is exceptional.
