Tania Fechney checks predator traps at the Cromwell Chafer Beetle Nature Reserve in Central Otago. When the Clyde hydroelectric dam was built on the Clutha River in the 1980s, it destroyed part of the habitat of the Cromwell chafer beetle (Prodontia lewisii). The reserve was created to protect the insect.
