The Museum of Childhood in Masterton showcases children’s toys, books and games. This exhibit of playground games includes a skipping rope, spinning tops, knucklebones and marbles. A school milk bottle recalls the period (1937–67) when every school child received a daily half pint (300 millilitres) of milk – often warmed in the sun before it could be drunk.

Hello In 2001, I provided my Noddy Doll for display in your Museum. I now wish to come collect, to pass on to my great great nephew Harlyn, who will turn 1 year old on 31 March. I am driving from Havelock North to Wellington tomorrow and would arrive in Masterton about midday. Would the museum be open so that I may collect this noddy doll, please? My mobile is 021.265.4652. May I have a mobile number in event I am delayed getting to Masteerton around noon? Kathryn Thomson
