Settling in

Some members of the Thack, Lam and Son families had spent up to 10 years in refugee camps in Thailand before coming to New Zealand. After spending six weeks at Mangere Refugee Reception Centre in Auckland, they settled in Waikanae, north of Wellington. They are pictured here learning to ride bikes in 1995.
