Kōrero: Mau rākau – Māori use of weaponry

Ngā rākau roa (e rua ngā ringa mau): ko te taiaha

Image
Two-handed weapons: taiaha

I mahia tēnei taiaha rerehua i te takiwā o te tau 1800. Kāore i te mōhiotia nō hea tēnei rākau. Kei tētahi o ōna pito te upoko me te ārero whakairo. Kei raro iho i te upoko ko te tauri (he huru manu) me te awe (he huruhuru kurī). Kei tētahi atu pito ko te mata, arā, ko te rau.
