Chatham Islands and Auckland (3 o 3)

The Chatham Islands seem a small area of land when seen on a map of New Zealand and its outlying islands, but larger when superimposed on a map of Auckland. This emphasises another contrast – in 2012 Auckland had a population of around 1.4 million people, compared with the 600 or so on the Chathams.
