Kōrero: Premiers and prime ministers

Statues of leaders

In the early 2000s, New Zealand's four official statues of past prime ministers were sited within a short distance of each other in central Wellington. Statues of John Ballance and Richard Seddon were located in Parliament grounds and that of Peter Fraser across Lambton Quay in front of the old Government Buildings (now the Victoria University pf Wellington law school). A statue of Keith Holyoake stood in front of the State Services Commission building in nearby Molesworth Street.
