This graph shows the age structure of the workforce for the four main ethnic groups. Pākehā have by far the largest proportion of older workers, partly because their total population is, on average, older. Most ethnic groups show a similar age pattern for male and female workers, apart from Pacific Islanders, where fewer women than men are working in almost every age group.
