Types of local television content, 2013

These two charts compare the composition by genre of locally produced television content in prime time (6 to 10 p.m.) and over all hours of transmission. The types of content that were strongly represented in prime time were news, documentaries, drama and comedy. Entertainment programmes were also screened more often. The less common genres in prime time were children's programmes, as might be expected, and shows that were substantially Māori in content.
