This graph shows New Zealand’s ranking in the United Nations human development index by comparison with her major trading partners. The graph also includes the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and world averages. The human development index includes life expectancy, education and literacy as well as gross domestic product per capita. New Zealand’s position of 18th in the world shows that it is slightly higher on this index than when economic wellbeing alone is considered. Compared to the world average, the New Zealand score is considerably higher.
