Occupational groupings by ethnic group, 2013

These charts show the distribution of occupations among four ethnic groups in the 2013 census. A higher proportion of Europeans and Asians were in high-paying and high prestige professions such as managers and professionals than Māori or Pacific people. A higher percentage of Māori and Pacific people worked as labourers or machine operators, which were poorly paid and had little prestige.
