Jill McDonald

Jill McDonald

Jill McDonald designed this cover for a 1967 primary school reader. The development of her personal style began with the introduction of strong outlines and quiet shadows in the late 1950s, and moved towards bright, active, detailed narratives in the 1960s, when she was art editor of the School Journal.
