Government agencies Plunket and Barnardos launched the ‘Never shake a baby’ campaign in 2009. Posters and television and radio ads educated parents and caregivers about the terrible potential consequences of shaking a baby. They told people what to do when a baby would not stop crying, and where to seek help.
