Tasman stamp (3 o 3)

Tasman stamp

In 1940 the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi led to renewed interest in many aspects of New Zealand’s past. A special centennial issue of stamps featured important events in the country’s history. The twopenny stamp pictured here features Abel Tasman, and the chart of New Zealand’s western coast which resulted from his voyage.
