International Festival of the Arts

The New Zealand International Festival of the Arts is a biennial, three-week arts festival held in Wellington. It is New Zealand’s premier cultural event, showcasing both international and local artists. First held in 1986, it has been seen by some as the catalyst for Wellington’s cultural renaissance in the 1990s.
