Ko tēnei te ‘pānuitanga rongomau’ a te kāwana a Hōri Kerei, e pānui ana i te hiahia o te kāwanatanga ki te raupatu i ngā whenua o Te Whakatōhea mō te kōhuru i a Te Wākana (Carl Völkner) rāua ko Hēmi Te Mautaranui (James Fulloon) he apiha nā te kawanatanga. Hei utu, ka raupatuhia ngā eka e 144,000 (58,000 heketea) o Te Whakatōhea.
