The McLean scale was one of several methods for estimating the level of rabbit infestation on a property. It is a subjective measure that relies on a visual assessment of rabbit signs. The scale was used by rabbit boards and regional councils up to 1997, when the objective ‘modified McLean scale’ was introduced to determine whether control measures were needed.
