Politician Thomas Sidey achieved national fame in the early 1900s for his annual motion to advance the clocks one hour in summer. This cartoon refers to one such effort in 1911. Sidey finally gained success in 1927 when clocks were advanced for one hour, although this was reduced to half an hour the following year.
