New Zealand film: Oscars for The return of the king

Peter Jackson's monumental film trilogy based on The lord of the rings by J. R. R. Tolkien was a major winner at successive Academy Awards, gaining a total of 17 Oscars for the three films. This cartoon of Jackson depicts him showing off the 11 Oscars received for The return of the king in 2004. This final film in the trilogy won in every category it was nominated for, including best picture and best director. Massive international success was an important factor in the development of the local film industry, and had major spin-off benefits for tourism.
