Madame Butterfly principals

When J. C. Williamson's company performed Puccini's Madame Butterfly in Auckland in 1910, cartoons of some of the principal singers in costume were published in New Zealand Truth. This was the first New Zealand airing of the immensely popular opera, which had had its world premiere only six years earlier.
