Kōrero: Exhibitions and world’s fairs

The colonial produce section of the Great Exhibition, 1851

This colour print of the interior of the Crystal Palace, one of the buildings housing the 1851 Great Exhibition in London, was produced by Dickinson Brothers in 1854. The New Zealand section can be seen on the left of the image, at the back wall. It was beside the South Australian display and near the Bahamas and Trinidad exhibits. A Māori waka (canoe) appears to be raised up in the centre of the display.
