Kōrero: Anthropology and archaeology

While working on a number of jobs in the Urewera country, from 1895 to 1910, Elsdon Best formed close relationships with Tūtakangahau and other Tūhoe experts. Best collected many local traditions and wrote them up in his 1925 book Tuhoe: children of the mist.
