Pukeahu National War Memorial Park landscape design

In 2008 landscape architects Wraight + Associates in Association with Athfield Architects won a competition run by Manatū Taonga, the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, to design a new National War Memorial Park in Buckle Street., Wellington. The design transformed a war memorial compromised by its close proximity to State Highway 1 into a spacious park suitable for contemplation and remembrance. Officially titled the Pukeahu National War Memorial Park, it opened on Anzac Day in 2015.
