Kōrero: Dancing

Dancing between battles, 1864

A well-filled dance card can be seen below this sketch of a ball at Government House in Auckland in 1864. The artist was Lieutenant Colonel Edward Williams, who served in the Waikato and South Taranaki campaigns of the New Zealand wars.
