Company accounts book, 19th century

Sales of buckles, bits and saddles are all carefully recorded in this accounts book for Ralph Armstrong’s saddlery business. Armstrong worked as a saddle-maker in Carterton, Wairarapa for many years from the 1870s. This extract from his accounts book shows several days’ trading in 1877, with the pounds, shillings and pence listed in separate columns.
