Insurance company buildings

Insurance companies were once renowned for large, ornate office buildings, intended to inspire public faith in the company. Images of the buildings were also used in advertising material. Here, the Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society showcased its buildings in the Cyclopedia of New Zealand (1897).
