Kōrero: Game birds

Acclimatisation Society aviary

These photographs were taken at the Auckland Acclimatisation Society's pheasant aviary at their Ōkoroire game farm in south Waikato, around 1911. Pheasants and other birds were raised there prior to being released so they could become 'food for the gun'.
