Kōrero: Arts reviewing

Chris Knox on Backch@t, 1998

In this Screen Talk interview with Chris Knox, legendary musician, composer and cartoonist, he discusses his role as a film critic on the arts show Backch@t with Roger Shepherd. Through the years there have been a range of arts, film and literary review programmes on New Zealand television, but, as of the 2010s, television had yet to develop as a major source of reviews. In contrast, radio, print and websites have taken television programmes seriously as review subjects.
