Frontier of dreams

Frontier of dreams was a major 13-episode television series on the history of New Zealand, which appeared in 2005. The series was based on essays prepared by professional historians and, in addition to extensive use of historical film and photographs, it drew on many interviews with leading historians of the country. In this episode covering the end of the 19th century, two historians – Charlotte Macdonald and Margaret Lovell-Smith – discuss the interrelated aims of the women's and temperance movements.
