Tuwhare

In 2003 singer-songwriter Charlotte Yates persuaded a group of New Zealand musicians to use poems written by Hone Tuwhare as lyrics for songs which they then performed for both a concert and a recording. Because Tuwhare was too sick to attend the album launch, this short documentary, Tuwhare (2005), was commissioned. It shows Tuwhare reciting his poems in his home at Kākā Point on the south Otago coast followed by the resulting songs.
