Kōrero: Publishing

Twenty-one years of Huia Publishers

In 1991 Robyn and Brian Bargh established a publishing house committed to publishing work about and by Māori and books in the Māori language. Their publications have filled a growing demand created by the establishment of Māori immersion schools (kura kaupapa) and Māori tertiary institutions (wānanga). In this short film produced to mark their 21st anniversary in 2012, members of Huia Publishers and significant leaders from the community talk of the achievement.
