Youth drinking

Video file

As this 2008 television report shows, a culture of binge drinking has developed among young New Zealanders, and in the 2000s was increasingly involving young women as well as young men. Young women have become attracted particularly to RTDs (ready-to-drinks), sweet spirits-based mixes, which are regarded as more feminine than the beer consumed by males.
