Dick Tayler at the 1974 Commonwealth Games

The 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch was covered extensively by colour television.  On the opening day Dick Tayler won the 10,000 metres and his victory became a famous television moment which helped to engender considerable national interest in the games.  This clip shows the final 300 metres of the race and Tayler's ecstatic expressions of triumph.
