Kōrero: Marching teams and cheerleaders

The marching girls

The marching girls, a 1987 television series, capitalised on nostalgia for a unique New Zealand institution. Written by Fiona Samuel, the show followed the fortunes of members of a social marching team from the Wellington suburb of Taitā who decided to try for a place at the North Island championships.
