Greeting the queen

Video file

Greeted by tumultuous crowds in every city and town she visited on her 1953–54 tour, waved to by small groups as her train passed farms and level crossings, even accompanied by a canoe in the Manawatū Gorge, Queen Elizabeth II was left in no doubt about New Zealanders’ enthusiasm for and delight in royalty.
