Educating boys

Girls' greater academic success prompted concern in the 1990s. In this excerpt from a 1994 television panel show, teacher John Hellner argues that boys need more – and a broader range of – male role models. Hellner's 20-year teaching career had included work at the single-sex Auckland Grammar School and co-educational Orewa College, Auckland. The interviewer is Ian Fraser.
