Watch footage of workers handling logs at the the Tasman Pulp and Paper mill at Kawerau in 1957. Private building firm Fletcher Construction seized the opportunity to not only build the mill, but become a part owner of the Tasman Pulp and Paper Company, together with the government and other shareholders in the early 1950s.
