Subsidised insulation

From 1996 the government offered various schemes to assist low- and middle-income owners of poorly insulated homes to get them insulated. In 2009 subsidies were extended to all homeowners, with the aim of insulating 20% of the homes estimated to have substandard insulation within four years (around 188,500 homes).
