Between 2000 and 2010 ASB bank advertisements featured US actor Stephen Mellor as undercover banker Ira Goldstein, who was seeking the secrets of ASB’s success for an unnamed New York bank. In this commercial Ira’s efforts to pass as a knowledgeable farmer to learn secrets from a rural banker are undone when he refers to a ‘flock’ of cows rather than a herd.
