Ranald Gordon, General Manager, PKW (Paraninihi ki Waitōtara) Farms, a Māori incorporation in Taranaki, explains the conditions of a 50:50 share-milking agreement between a farm owner and a ‘share milker’ farm worker. These arrangements are unique to the dairy industry in New Zealand and have allowed many young people to earn enough money to go on and buy their own farms.
