Moths and butterflies were depicted on a set of stamps produced in 1970. The 2½-cent magpie moth also appeared on a 4-cent stamp when an increase in postage rates in 1971 rendered 2½-cent stamps obsolete. More than 37 million stamps were overprinted with a 4-cent value.
