Tapa Coffee and Bakehouse, Glasgow

Tapa Coffee and Bakehouse, Glasgow

These two New Zealanders, Virginia Webb and Robert Winters, opened their organic bakery and café in Glasgow in 2003 after sensing a gap in the market. Both have family ties to Scotland. They arrived in the United Kingdom in 2000, and by 2004 were serving organic coffee and baked bread to grateful Glaswegians. They named their shop after Pacific tapa cloth, and one hangs in the wall behind them in this photograph.
