Born to be citizens

In 1948 the British Nationality and New Zealand Citizenship Act was passed by the New Zealand Parliament. Since then almost all babies born in New Zealand have automatically become citizens of the country, whatever the nationality of their parents. These new citizens – three sets of twins – are shown with their mothers at North Shore Hospital in 2001.
