Fossil bone (2 o 2)

Fossil bone

This piece of fossil bone is encased in hard sandstone from Haumuri Bluff. Bone fragments like this are common, but it is more difficult to find larger pieces or whole bones, which must be painstakingly extracted from the sandstone.
